The Palù area – a toponym which suggests the ancient one presence of a marshy area – was reclaimed by the Benedictine monks of the nearby Abbey of Santa Bona a Vidor around 1200.
The marshes were transformed into carpets of meadows with ditches and perimeter plants, becoming a unique landscape of its kind. Of relevance is the Passo Barca area – with the Volpere path, along the left bank of the Piave River from the locality of Falzè, up to the confluence with the Fontane Bianche. The naturalistic peculiarity is the sedimentary rock wall.
