Vittorio Veneto – Belvedere S. Antonio Abate

This belvedere overlooks the narrow Serravalle, opposite the Sanctuary of St Augusta and also features the ruins of the small Church of St Antonio Abate. The Sanctuary of S. Augusta is reached by an imposing flight of steps: there are 100 steps that impose a penance to reach the sanctuary at the top. Inside, an altar preserves the relics of the Saint. Legend has it that St Augusta, daughter of the Goth king Madrucco, was martyred by her father with fire, with the wheel and finally killed with the sword because of her Christian faith.
