Farra di Soligo – San Gallo

Romitaggio di San Gallo in Soligo: an ancient complex on the top of the hill of the same name, the hermitage was built on the remains of the castle of Soligo, destroyed in 1378. It consists of the Romanesque-style church and adjoining hostel, once used by pilgrims. The site is still a destination for those who go there “a cior la son” (falling asleep) for children and adults suffering from insomnia. From the belvedere, near the Monumento dell’Aviere, there is a view toward the Quartier del Piave and the Treviso countryside with the Piave River to the south and toward the Valsana and Prealpi Trevigiane to the north. A visit to the Borgo di Collagù is suggested.
