Cison di Valmarino – Belvedere Rolle

The Borgo di Rolle: a small and pleasant rural hamlet, the first Italian village to be protected by the FAI, is a place that the poet Andrea Zanzotto, a great lover of the place, described for its scenic beauty as a postcard sent by the gods. It developed from the 13th century, when Benedictine monks settled there. Part of the ancient monastery can still be seen near the centre of the village. From the small square in Rolle, there is a breathtaking view of hills covered with vineyards, fruit trees and old farmhouses.
