Sarmede – Via Pertini

Štěpàn Zavřel Museum: contains sixty original works by the Czech artist, highlighting his creative path and the absolutely innovative and contemporary aspects of his work. It is located at the Sarmede Town Hall.

Štěpàn Zavřel, born in 1932 in Prague, settled in Sarmede in 1968. He was an illustrator painter and his presence in Sarmede acted as a catalyst for a creative network of artists from all over Central Europe. As an initiative, the International Exhibition of Illustration for Children (today The Pictures of Fantasy) was born in 1983, which was joined by the International School of Illustration in 1989.
